Argus Collar
The Argus Story
In Greek mythology, Argus was Odysseus’ faithful dog. He waited for his master’s return to Ithaca for over a decade while most presumed Odysseus dead. He was the first to recognize the King returning from the Trojan War, even though Odysseus was disguised as a beggar to discover what was going on in his palace during his absence. It was said that as soon as Argus recognized his master, he dropped his ears and did his best to wag his tail. Having fulfilled his destiny of faith by laying his eyes upon his master once more, he released a final wimper and died.

This is the true story which inspired us to name our brand. A story which describes the special bond between a dog and a man.
ArgusCollar started when we realised that as dog owners, we couldn’t find any attractive collars for our own dogs. We were looking for fashionable and unique collars but we only found the same old fashioned ones. We just felt they were not distinguishable enough nor made our little best friends stand out.
We didn’t want to wear something on our dogs that we would never wear! So, that was when we came up with the idea of ArgusCollar! To design collars for our dogs that we could wear as bracelets, too!
We designed stylish collars made by animal friendly PU leather and created matching bracelets for you.
That’s why ArgusCollar is not only for your best friend, but for you as well!
Άργος, στην ελληνική μυθολογία, είναι ο πιστός σκύλος του Οδυσσέα που αναγνώρισε τον μεταμφιεσμένο σε ζητιάνο κύριό του ύστερα από είκοσι χρόνια απουσίας και αμέσως μετά πέθανε!
Η ιστορία αυτή περιγράφει με τον καλύτερο τρόπο, τον ισχυρό δεσμό που μπορεί να αναπτυχθεί μεταξύ ανθρώπου και σκύλου και ο Άργος αποτελεί το σύμβολο αυτής της πίστης και φιλίας.
Η ιστορία του Άργους, του πιστού σκύλου του Οδυσσέα, μας ενέπνευσε ώστε να δώσουμε αυτό το όνομα στα κολάραμας. Για να δηλώσουμε τον άρρηκτο δεσμό που συνδέει το σκύλο με τον ιδιοκτήτη του!
Πώς γεννήθηκε όμως η ιδέα ενός κολάρου για σκύλους, που συνοδεύεται με βραχιόλι για τον ιδιοκτήτη του;
Όλα ξεκίνησαν όταν, ψάχνοντας να αγοράσουμε κολάρα για τα δικά μας σκυλιά, βρίσκαμε μόνο συνηθισμένα παλιομοδίτικα κολάρα που δεν αντιπροσώπευαν τους μικρούς μας φίλους αλλά ούτε και εμάς τους ίδιους. Συνειδητοποιήσαμε ότι δεν υπήρχαν στην αγορά κολάρα που να μας εντυπωσιάσουν!
Δεν θέλαμε να φοράνε τα σκυλιά μας κολάρα σε σχέδια που ποτέ δεν θα φορούσαμε εμείς οι ίδιοι! Σχεδιάσαμε λοιπόν τα κολάρα σε σχέδια που ανταποκρίνονται στην αισθητική μας!
Και όταν τα πρώτα δείγματα ήταν έτοιμα μας ενθουσίασαν τόσο που σκεφτήκαμε ότι θα μπορούσαμε να τα φορέσουμε κι εμείς οι ίδιοι σαν βραχιόλια!!
Τότε γεννήθηκε η ιδέα των ArgusCollar! Να σχεδιάσουμε κολάρα για τους μικρούς μας φίλους, που θα μπορούσαμε να φοράμε κι εμείς σαν βραχιόλια! Με τον τρόπο αυτόν θα αποτυπώναμε αυτόν τον ιδιαίτερο δεσμό που μόνο ένας ιδιοκτήτης σκύλου μπορεί να καταλάβει.
Και επειδή πιστεύουμε ότι κανένα ζώο δεν πρέπει να υποφέρει και να θανατώνεται για χάρη της μόδας, χρησιμοποιήσαμε συνθετικό δέρμα , φιλικό προς όλα τα ζώα!!!
Έτσι λοιπόν, με πολύ μεγάλη αγάπη και μεράκι, δημιουργήσαμε τα ArgusCollar, σε υπέροχα σχέδια και χρώματα, για μας και για τους πιο πιστούς μας φίλους!

Frozen

Little Frozen was found along with her sister, they were both in a terrible state from living on the street from birth….
They came to us when they were just 2 months old, it was obvious they had been separated from their mum for a while, as they were both malnourished, and unfortunately Frozen’s sister did not make it.
Even though she has had a rough start to life, Frozen is such a lovely little angel, she has no fear of new people, and will always come up to visitors wanting a belly rub, or head scratch.
She is a little bit shy of new dogs, but always very quickly welcomes them into her heart, and plays with them, and washes their eyes….. making sure they are ok.
She is a very quiet dog, not one to bark too much, she will show her excitement more by wagging her tail soo much she might take flight at any moment.
Sue to her being a gentle soul, she has no problems with any other dogs, and shares her food brilliantly…. in fact she will quite often move out of the way so another dog can eat along side her.

This lovely boy, is a very gentle soul. He is amazing with other dogs, and people, and will be one of the first to greet anyone new to visit. Quite often following the visitors around, making sure they are ok.
He is great with new arrivals of dogs to, always kind and gentle with a new arrival, never aggressive or possessive of his food or toys.
He loves to have a mad half hour run around, followed by a nice long siesta in the sunshine.

About Zarko:
Zarko has a lovely temperament, he is quite shy with new people, and likes to sniff you from afar, but once he gets to know you, he will come running up and greet you with the full body waging (starts at the tip of his tail and goes all the way up his body to his head!) He is a bit if a cheeky character with food, will leave what is down in his bowl, until he knows that you have nothing else left in your hand….
He is a playful boy, and loves nothing more than to play tug of war, or chew on a toy.
He is great with other dogs of all sizes, and ages.

Little kanelitza is one of our older ladies, she is around 7 years old now. Even though she is one of our older dogs, she gets on great with all other dogs, no matter what age. She is not a big one for running around and playing with puppies, but at the same time she is great with them, she lets them run all around her, a bit like a mama dog would, and when she has had enough of there energy and excitement, she will just potter off to somewhere quieter for a little nap.
She desperately needs to find a home, where she can be given the love she deserves….
